Demi Honors Abolitionist Anuradha Koirala at CNN Heroes

CNN Heroes is CNN’s annual televised special highlighting the work of everyday people dedicated to community service. The CNN Heroes are profiled in the awards ceremony and receive $25,000 for their work. The Hero of the Year receives $100,000. Demi spoke about child sex slavery and presented an award to a woman named Anuradha Koirala, who is fighting to prevent the trafficking and sexual exploitation of Nepal's women and girls. Since 1993, she and her group, Maiti Nepal, have helped rescue and rehabilitate more than 12,000 victims. Anuradha was chosen as the 2010 Hero of the Year due to her brave and heroic work fighting trafficking and sex slavery.
